Not Just a Tutor. A Researcher Who Loves Explaining Things.
Hi, I'm Marius. I'm a PhD student in Montreal, studying genetics in a computational setting — the genetic basis of autoimmune diseases, read out of large datasets. My day-to-day work involves statistical modelling, computational analysis, and making sense of complex biological data — skills that map directly to the math and science concepts I help students master.
Before my PhD, I graduated summa cum laude from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Biochemistry with a minor in Economics, earning Dean's Honour List recognition all four years.
Earlier still, I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma, taking Higher Level Mathematics alongside Higher Level Economics and Biology, with English, Philosophy and French at Standard Level. A two-year programme judged entirely on external exams is something I have sat through myself, not just taught — which is usually the part students want to talk about.
My approach is simple: I don't just show you how to solve a problem. I show you why the method works, so you can tackle anything an exam throws at you with confidence.

Math Tutoring in Montreal, Built Around the Quebec Curriculum
Finding the right math tutor in Montreal is about more than credentials — it's about finding someone who knows the exact courses, exams, and grading pressures Quebec students face. Every session I teach is built around the material you're actually being tested on, whether that's a Secondary IV ministry exam, a CEGEP Calculus final, or a university statistics midterm.
High School Math Tutoring (Sec I–V)
I tutor all three Quebec high school math streams — CST, TS, and SN — from Secondary I through Secondary V, along with Sec IV & V Science and Physics. That includes algebra, functions, geometry, trigonometry, and optimization, plus focused preparation for the Quebec ministry (MEES) exams in June. Students come to me from English and French public and private schools across the city.
CEGEP Math & Science Tutoring
CEGEP is where many strong students hit a wall — the pace is faster, the classes are bigger, and the R-score raises the stakes. I tutor the core Science and Commerce program courses: Calculus I & II (NYA/NYB), Linear Algebra (NYC), General Chemistry, Physics (Mechanics), and Micro/Macroeconomics.
University Tutoring
For university students at McGill, Concordia, and beyond, I tutor probability & statistics, discrete math, calculus, and intro programming — the same quantitative tools I use daily in my PhD research analyzing large genetic datasets.
In Person Across Montreal, or Online Anywhere in Quebec
I meet students in person near McGill campus, downtown, and at public libraries such as the Grande Bibliothèque, serving families in Westmount, Outremont, Town of Mount Royal, Hampstead, Côte-Saint-Luc, NDG, Nuns' Island, and the West Island (Beaconsfield, Kirkland, Baie-D'Urfé). Online sessions run on Zoom with a shared digital whiteboard and work just as well.
