What CEGEP Calculus II covers
Calculus II is the largest of the three courses, and the shape of it surprises people: competency 0M03 carries six elements against Calculus I's four, and it is the only one of the three that reaches infinite series. Antiderivatives and the definite integral open it, the techniques of integration follow, and then the same integral is put to work on areas, volumes, arc length and separable differential equations before the course turns to sequences and series.
The two sets students underestimate are techniques of integration and convergence, and for the same reason: neither is a procedure you execute, both are a choice you justify. The ministerial standard asks for the pertinent application of the rules and techniques, so each of those sets ends with a sheet that is only about the choice — which technique settles this integral and why the other two fail, which test settles this series and what the obvious alternative misses.
Whether your course is numbered 201-NYB-05 or 201-SN3-RE, the content is the same competency. Numerical integration is absent from 0M03, so it is left out rather than included as filler.
