What Secondary 1 Math covers

Secondary 1 is the year arithmetic stops being about getting the answer and starts being about knowing why the answer is what it is. Negative numbers arrive and the number line stretches both ways; a fraction stops being a picture of a pizza and becomes a number you can order, convert and operate on; and divisibility, factors and multiples turn into tools rather than trivia. The sets below follow that arc, and the arithmetic is split six ways rather than shipped as one enormous sheet, because the skill being practised changes completely between ordering decimals and finding a lowest common multiple.

Geometry in this year is largely about constructing — a bisector, a perpendicular, a regular polygon, the net of a prism — and then reasoning about what you built. That is why the constructions have their own set: the marks are in the justification that follows the drawing, not in the drawing.

Coming from elementary school? Start with whole numbers and the four operations. It looks like revision and mostly is, but the order of operations and the properties of operations are the two things every later sheet quietly assumes, and they are the cheapest gaps to close.
