Secondary 4 SN is where the algebra stops being arithmetic with letters. Factoring becomes a choice between six techniques rather than one procedure; a rational expression carries restrictions that survive the cancelling; a system of equations can have two solutions, one, or none, and the discriminant tells you which before you solve it.
